You’ve got a great idea for a business, but how do you find the perfect name for your brand?
With our Build A Better Brand! Business Naming Workbook, we’ll walk you through 3 simple steps to generating a name for your new company.
Before you dive in, you’ll first do a little prep work identifying the characteristics of your brand. This includes things like how you describe your product and/or services, the industry you’re a part of, how you think people will learn about your brand, identifying your competition and how you will fit in with the industry. Plus you will develop an understanding of your brand’s personality and the traits that best describe it.
Step 1: Word Bank
Using your prep work, you will complete a mind map brainstorming words associated with your brand, industry and product/service.
Step 2: Name Categories
Next you’ll start exploring the possibilities of word combinations using several categories to experiment.
Step 3: Evaluate
Fill in your top 5 names from Step 2 and compare them using the questions provided. It can also be helpful at this stage to run your ideas by a friend or advisor to get their feedback as well. By the end of this exercise you will have a score for each name idea, you can sit with which one mathematically wins versus which one you’re most attracted to. Go with your gut and choose one you will be proud to use for years to come!
